Big Events

Home Opener at The Safe! And a good game it turned out to be, a win for the home team 3-2 in 10 innings and The Kid is back (Ken Griffey Jr. is back with the M’s, the club with which he started his career and played for 10 years). Welcome back Kenny!

I took about 300 photos, I am crazy. Here is one of the playing field during the top of the 5th inning I believe.

My brother and I drove to the game in driving rain and arrived at the park as the roof was closing (retractable roof). About 30 minutes before first pitch the blue skies arrived and they stayed for the whole game – crazy weather. So, open the roof they did. What a great day it was.

  1. Mother Nature even knew what a big game it was! What a gorgeous shot – bright greens and that blue sky! Glad you won (you also get the award for a wining picture)!

  2. Looks like you had a great time! Beautiful sky and a great photo.

  3. Looks like you had a great time! Beautiful sky and a great photo.

  4. Yay! It’s baseball season! Great shot…..it’s Yankee Stadium tonight!

  5. Nice shot – and it looks like you had good seats too!

  6. Glad you mentioned the roof being rolled back. I was beginning to wonder what happened to that extremely expensive stadium they “City Fathers” built as an override to the wishes of the public. Nice photo.

  7. Nice shot! Always love a good, live baseball game.

  8. I’m glad your day turned out perfectly. This is a nice shot. Great colors.

  9. Great shot Ted, haven’t made it to a game in too long a time and this is second best.

  10. nothing better than a warm afternoon, a dog and a beer, and baseball…great capture.

  11. We’re having trouble even keeping a minor league team here in Ottawa, but I do love a baseball game. This shot is excellent. I’m trying to imagine how the retractible roof operates.
