28 of 365 for 2009 “A Pair Of…”
I wish I had more time to photograph in the fog yesterday. It was so thick and there were several opportunities to capture buildings disappearing into the fog. I’ve found fog a challenge to shoot in and discovered that a fast shutter speed is key.
If it is at all windy the particles of water will blur the scene in a long exposure, however, it is hard to get away from long exposures due to the lack of light. This is where a camera with high ISO settings and good noise reduction would come in handy. I’ve heard there is a Nikon camera with ISO up to 6400 that still produces noiseless (or virtually so) photos. That is amazing. You could practically shoot in the dark, handheld, at those settings!
Happy Weekend to one and all.
Hard to get just the right effect in fog, so far I haven’t been able to capture what I saw.

Oh, that is lovely! The fog creates a dream-like effect and I love the way you’ve composed the shot. Thanks for the tips!

Oh, you got it just right. And, I love the slight angle you shot at – adds a bit of tension to the image….

Very nice – I find fog to magical (as long as I’m not driving in it) but to date haven’t really captured that magic. This one definitely works.
