16 of 365 for 2009 “Blue”

I saw a photo of a shot up into the trees against a perfectly blue sky once that inspired me to try something similar. I didn’t actually achieve what I was after but I will get it someday. For now this is a first shot of a single tree. It is a little too busy but the blue sky was pretty awesome that day.

  1. Oh, I don’t know. Looks pretty good to me. I once heard that lessons are learned from our failures, not our successes.

Next time, try lying on your back to get the shot. This past summer, I had the occasion to fall backwards beneath the tree in front of our house.

While waiting for the aid-car, I had opportunity to look up into that tree. 😀
Looked a lot taller than it really is, and had a symmetry about it that I hadn’t appreciated before.

Two hours later, all was pronounced well, but in the meanwhile, being transported on that back board and waiting around while still attached to it until every one had probed and prodded me was almost as bad as the fall!

That sky really is blue, isn’t it? Nice capture.

  2. The blue is vibrating and I like the crook in the tree, nice…

  3. The enlargement really PINGS the blue! What a shame that come spring all that blue will be invisible _ What am I saying?

  4. Love the perspective here, I don’t think it is busy at all – I like it!

  5. Ted, we must have been thinking the same thoughts yesterday as Dave and I both did some very similar shots of some sycamore trees against a very blue sky. I like yours a lot! I bet it’s exactly the view that a squirrel sees…

  6. I see absolutely nothing wrong with this photo. I like it.

  7. I like the angle and contrast.
